The Figueroa fam has been very into the Halloween spirit this year. Kayla wanted to start decorating in September! We ended up getting started the first week of October and she was so excited to help. She’s into all things spooky lately. She’s been singing a “spooky spooky” song she learned in school and re-telling us the Halloween stories they read as well.
Kayla has known what she was going to be for Halloween since she saw Descendants 2 earlier this year. She’s now seen both Descendants 1 and 2 at least 20 times. She loves Evie because she’s into fashion along with her friend Dizzy. She even has Evie’s fashion book and has us read it to her every night. Although Kayla likes her blue hair, she opted not to wear a wig or spray her hair blue (which is OK with us). It’s been fun watching her dress up as Evie and play the part. She insisted on holding the apple in her pictures and not smiling because “she’s wicked”. She’s definitely got a passion for dramatic play. I often have to pretend I’m Mal and she is Evie or Dizzy and doing my hair or showing me a jacket she “made”.
We’ve been pumpkin patch-hopping this year and it’s been fun watching the two of them take it all in together. Cameron loves the pumpkins and Kayla loves the games although he wants to do absolutely everything his big sister does. Which is adorable but also means double the tickets for every ride and game! Regardless, this season has been a blast and I can’t wait for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
OK, a LOT of love! And we have even more love these days with baby #2 on the way. Soon there’ll be double the outfits and cuteness on here and I can’t wait. Kayla is very excited for her baby brother “Peter Pan” to arrive. I am so going to put them in match-y outfits before they can refuse and call me crazy.
I made a rare trip to the mall after Christmas this year to exchange some shoes I received as a gift. On the way out, I saw a store called Crazy 8 with super cute kid clothes. I’m glad I went because that’s where I got this outfit. That trip was a good reminder for me to venture out more often because I might miss out on things I wouldn’t necessarily find online (my usual shopping destination).
This shoot was made possible by ring pops, foam hearts and a balloon. Thank goodness for the simple things that amuse toddlers.
Coming in the very near future…3rd birthday outfit, newborn (boy) outfits and even some maternity/family photos. 2016 is going to be so. much. fun.
And we’re back, it’s been a few crazy months but we’re back. Kayla is growing up so fast, she now loves the camera. If I even pick up my phone (without the intent of snapping her pic) she starts saying, “cheese!” She’s such a ham now and we love it. She was more than excited to put on her little 4th of July outfit this year and especially loved her necklace. Adorning jewelry is one of her latest crazes. She will stand at my jewelry box and put on all my bracelets and necklaces or put on all the dress up jewelry and tiaras in her room. Oh, and she is very particular about her hair styles, this particular style she calls her “Minnie ears”. It’s either this or “Elsa braids” almost every day.
I can’t wait to see her face when she sees the fireworks this holiday. Have a safe and happy 4th!!!
