These beautiful little bunnies are growing so fast I can hardly believe it. This is Kayla’s 6th Easter already! She is so excited for the Easter Bunny that she actually said she was going to bed early. This, from the girl who stays up all hours of the night singing songs from Moana and Frozen, reading and lite-brite-ing. She’s often still awake when we fall asleep. Cams on the other hand, was not eager to sleep at all which is par for the course. But when I did try to explain to him that he needed to sleep so the Easter Bunny could come and leave him some treats he said, “bring cars”. He wants MORE cars! He has so many cars he can’t possibly play with them all. But, he is indeed getting more cars 🙂 I can’t wait to see their little faces when they see their baskets, especially since they aren’t expecting anything other than a little candy.
Tiny updated on these little ones as well. Kayla is currently fascinated with roly polys and will stop when she sees one, pick it up and ask to bring it wherever we’re going. She also loves her new, giant trampoline her Nonna got for her birthday. She wants to spend every free moment at home on that thing. I love watching her (and Cam) jump and play looking so carefree and happy. It’s my favorite. She’s not one for letting me dress her these days or even do her hair. Luckily she was a fan of these dresses and loved wearing them not only to see the Easter Bunny but to school and for picture day.
Cam has taken up some sort of British accent and now calls me “mommay” and calls his lovey, “lovay”. He cracks me up, I don’t even know where it came from. Literally one day I was mommy and the next I’m mommay. He continues to love all things cars and trains and will take bags of cars with him or carry trains in his hands every time we leave the house. Oh, and his new favorite thing to do is ask for something and then scream “no” the second I give it to him. Goes something like this, “milk please mommy”, then I hand it to him, “NO MILK!” in an angry, upset tone. So I take it back and he screams, “MILK!!! Oh how I love terrible twos.

Hippity Hoppity Easter’s on its way! Our lil bunnies are so ready for Easter. Eggs dyed…check, Easter outfits…check, torturous trip to the Easter Bunny…check. Poor Cameron did NOT like the Easter Bunny one bit (see below). Just like his big sister at that age. We dyed eggs today whilst Cam was napping so that “babyzilla” would not destroy the entire experience. He always wants to do whatever big sister is doing and that usually means walking or crawling up and sitting right on top of whatever Kayla is playing with. I can only imagine what it would have looked like had he done that with the 16 cups of dye in front of her. Kayla had fun meticulously dying and glittering each one of her eggs. We can’t wait to watch her find them all tomorrow!
Bedtime is usually a long, drawn-out ordeal. “I need one more huggy”, “I have to go potty”, “I want a cup of milk”, “tell me a story”, followed by 20 random questions and hours of singing to herself in bed. But tonight, she actually asked me to leave! She said, “I want you to leave, I need to go to sleep so the Easter Bunny can come”. That was it, she was out. She’s so excited and I love it. Can she stay like this forever?
Special credit to Kayla and Cameron’s Nonna for these Easter ensembles. Kayla loved her dress and rainbow outfit. She’s worn them both many times already. And let’s just say we’ve got some good bribery material for Cam when he’s older 😉
Here it is, Kayla’s fun Easter outfit. It’s a cute sparkly Bunny dress with pink chiffon ruffles. She LOVES this dress. Every time I open her closet she reaches for it. The ears though…not so much. I had to distract her big time to keep those things on. Now, which outfit to wear when she visits the actual easter bunny? I hope we get a better picture than we did with Santa (see below). I’m 90% we will not but hey, at least we can look back at them and laugh.
PS – I am such a dunce. I forgot to publish this a week ago 😦 Sorry!
Of course she has two Easter dresses, why wouldn’t she? I had to do the traditional dress and a fun dress which I’ll debut in another post. This will be Kayla’s second Easter, she already understands the concept of opening the eggs and finding goodies inside. Let’s just hope she’s walking by then so she go hunt for eggs while I take a million pictures!
